Die Domain ihrer Website scheint sich Jodie Swallow zum Programm gemacht haben: I follow the Swallow – vielmehr blieb der Konkurrenz in der Saison 2010 auch kaum übrig. Ihre bisher erfolgreichste Saison, in der die Engländerin drei Sieg auf drei unterschiedlichen Distanzen feierte, krönte Swallow mit dem Gewinn der Ironman 70.3-Weltmeisterschaft in Clearwater.

Seit 2000 betreibt Jodie Swallow aktiv Triathlon und ist praktisch von Anfang an erfolgreich. 2001 wurde sie von der Europäischen Triathlon-Union als erfolgreichste Athletin ausgezeichnet. Darauf ruhte sich die Britin nicht aus und sammelte weitere Erfolge. Die größten aber stellten sich ab 2009 ein. Jodie Swallow gewann den Ironman 70.3 Singapore und wurde im selben Jahr in Perth ITU-Weltmeisterin auf der Langdistanz. Dass sie trotzdem auch noch auf der Olympischen Distanz schnell unterwegs ist, zeigen der siebte Platz beim WM-Rennen London und der Sieg beim Weltcup in Tongyeong 2010. Das aber hielt sie nicht davon ab, im November 2010 auch noch in Clearwater zu gewinnen.
