Rebekah Keat

In ihrer Heimat Australien zählt Rebekah Keat zu den stärksten und erfolgreichsten Triathletinnen auf der Langdistanz. Neben dem australischen Meistertitel kann sich die Lady von der Gold Coast seit 2007 auch mit dem Sieg beim IRONMAN Australia schmücken.

Dort zeigte sie, wo ihre Stärken liegen: Aus einem Rückstand von acht Minuten auf dem Rad machte sie bis ins Ziel einen Vorsprung von sieben Minuten vor immerhin starken Athletinnen wie Belinda Granger und Melissa Ashton. Seitdem hat sie sich mehr und mehr in der Weltspitze etabliert. Auch von Dopingvorwürfen, die die Australierin Anfang 2005 begleiteten, ließ sie sich nicht irritieren und kam anschließend fast noch stärker zurück.
